Rotary Festival of Trees supports Soldiers’

10/4/2007 12:00:00 AM

This year’s Rotary Festival of Trees will contribute to the good health of our community. The Rotary Club of Orillia and Rotary Club of Lake Country are pleased to announce that 50% of the proceeds from the popular event will be donated to the MRI Fund at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.

“The Festival is a celebration for the people of Orillia and area and there is no more important resource for our community than our hospital,” says Rotary Festival of Trees Chair Reid Asselstine. “I think all of us as Rotarians are very proud and pleased to be able to contribute in this way.”

“We’re thrilled the Rotary Clubs have chosen the MRI fund as their charity of choice for this year,” says Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Foundation Chair Gini Stringer. “I know from attending over many years that the Festival of Trees is always a great event that is very successful in raising a substantial amount of money. We sincerely appreciate this support.”

The 6th annual Rotary Festival of Trees will be held November 21 to 25 at OPP Headquarters on Memorial Avenue. The event will be preceded by the annual Gala on Friday, November 16 at Fern Resorts.

Tickets for any of the festival events are available from any Rotary member.  Full details including the calendar of events are available on the festival website at www.rotaryfestivaloftrees.com.
