Eight people have put their names forward to fill the three vacant positions on the Board of Directors of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.  The three new board directors will be elected by the hospital’s corporate members at a special meeting on October 23, 2007.

“We are extremely pleased that these individuals are seeking a spot on our board,” says Bob Middaugh, Chair of the Board’s Nominating Committee. “It shows true community dedication and commitment to Soldiers’ Memorial, that this many highly qualified candidates are willing to give of their time and energies as volunteer leaders of our hospital.”

The candidates are: Robert Bowles, Ken Brownlee, Donald Davidson, Justina Goldberg, Tony Katarynych, Roy Menagh, Carol Nass and Cliff Whitfield.

At the hospital’s special membership meeting on the evening of Tuesday, October 23rd, each candidate will have three minutes to address the membership in attendance. The three new board members will then be elected by secret ballot. Each hospital member in attendance that evening will be eligible to vote.

For the information of members, a short biography of each candidate will be posted on the hospital’s website by mid-October at www.osmh.on.ca.

Pre-registration begins at 5:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m., there will be a presentation of the hospital’s new strategic plan, immediately followed by the special meeting. Business will be limited to the selection of the three new elected directors and a discussion of community issues.
