6/24/2008 12:00:00 AM

Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is delighted to announce Terry Dyni as the Director, Community Relations effective July 14, 2008.

Terry has held various positions over his 20-year career, most recently as Communications Officer for Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC), where he was responsible for a variety of communications initiatives, and served as a liaison between the media and the organization.

“Terry is a strong communicator and a great relationship builder,” said Elisabeth Riley, President and CEO of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. “We are fortunate to have found someone who has experience with communications in a community setting, and who is an active member of the North Simcoe Muskoka community.”

Terry has an extensive background in journalism, media relations and communications. He began his career as a reporter with Telemedia Communications in 1987, and moved on to hold senior positions at the Canadian Professional Golfers Association and Deerhurst Resort. Terry holds a diploma in broadcast journalism from Canadore College.

“This is an exciting opportunity to join an organization with tremendous history and commitment to the communities it serves,” said Terry. “I look forward to working closely with key groups within the community to build upon the relationship of trust and understanding.”

He and his wife Lyndsay, along with their one year old daughter Maiya, will be relocating to the Orillia area within the next few months.

The Director, Community Relations completes the senior management team, comprised of Dr. Donald Atkinson, Chief of Medical Staff; Mary Silverthorn, Integrated VP Human Resources and Organizational Development; Susan Anderson, VP Finance and Chief Financial Officer; and Cheryl Harrison, VP Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Executive. The team will be introduced to corporate members at tonight’s annual general meeting.
