Operating in connection with Cancer Care Ontario and various regional cancer centers including Princess Margaret Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, the Adult Cancer Clinic at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is proud to be able to provide expert and exceptional cancer care close to home.
The cancer treatment program at OSMH began in 1983. Over the years it has evolved and grown into a highly respected adult outpatient oncology clinic, which sees over 4,800 patients per year. The major disease sites managed here include: colorectal, prostate, lung, breast and lymphomas.
Our goal, to provide the most current cancer treatments with care and compassion, is supported by pharmacists, dietitians and social workers as well as clerical staff and volunteers.
The Orillia Cancer Clinic is fortunate to have Dr. Deven Bhatt, an onsite Oncologist, who sees patients referred to him from across North Simcoe Muskoka for diagnosis, staging and treatment. Specially trained RNs, most of whom have their Certified Oncology Nurse credential, not only administer chemotherapy in the Systemic Therapy Suite but also conduct assessments, follow-up support and care along with Dr. Bhatt in the pre/post clinic.
