In an effort to alleviate some of our parking challenges, OSMH has implemented some important changes. This is a first step toward resolving our parking issues for both staff and visitors. More changes are under consideration and will be announced as they are confirmed.
Visitor Parking
The main parking lot (Lot A) is located off Dunlop Street (see map) and restricted to visitors, volunteers and clergy. The cost to park in this lot is $5 upon entrance. Change is available from the Cashier in the main lobby (9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.), the switchboard, or from a bill change machine near the Gift Shop entrance.
Patient Parking
Patients accessing services at OSMH are encouraged to park in the main parking lot (Lot A), located off Dunlop Street (see map). For patients being treated in the Dialysis Unit, Oncology Unit, and Emergency Department, there are a limited number of metered parking spaces available just outside of the unit. Only patients may use these spots.
There are also a number of metered spots available off Volunteer Drive. Please see our detailed map for more information.
Handicap Parking
If you are physically disabled, there are reserved spaces available in the main lot (Lot A). These spaces are metered up to four hours. Make sure you display your valid MTO handicap sticker or your vehicle will be towed.
Vehicles will also be towed if parked by an expired meter, fire route or no parking zone.
Physician On-Call Parking
There are seven (7) spots allocated for on-call physicians to be used by physicians when they are called urgently to the hospital for their service. Two (2) spots are located in front of the Kiwanis Children’s Centre, and five (5) are adjacent to the Ambulance Bay and Emergency entrance. Please see map for more details.
Alternate Parking Options
Alternate parking options include parking lots owned and operated by independent contractors located across from the hospital on Mississaga and Colborne Streets (see map for details).
