Nominations open for OSMH Board of Directors

2/10/2012 12:00:00 AM

(Friday, February 10, 2012 - Orillia, ON) – Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is looking for dedicated and dynamic individuals to sit on our Board of Directors and help lead us into the future.  Individuals interested in serving on the OSMH Board have until 4 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012, to submit their application for consideration by the Board’s Nominating Committee.

OSMH is a full-service community hospital that not only provides health and healing to patients in Orillia and surrounding areas, it also plays an important role within the community as one of the largest employers in the region.

While all eligible applicants will be given consideration, an effort will be made to balance the overall skills mix of the current Board by recommending individuals with previous Board experience, and those who also have expertise in areas such as information technology, change management, government relations and human resources/labour relations.

The Committee will review all submissions received up to the deadline and recommend nominees to the hospital’s corporate membership prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 26, 2012.  The terms of four current directors will expire at the AGM.

As per hospital by-laws, additional nominations can also be submitted up to 30 days prior to the AGM.

The hospital by-laws and nomination packages including eligibility requirements are available on the hospital’s website, www.osmh.on.ca under the Board Candidate Application link on the home page, or by contacting Nicky Marchant at nlmarchant@osmh.on.ca or 705-325-2201 ext. 3203.

Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is located in Orillia, Ontario (just 114 kilometres north of Toronto) and serves more than 440,000 residents in North Simcoe Muskoka. OSMH provides a comprehensive range of programs and services, including medical, surgical and emergency care, dialysis, obstetrical and paediatric care, oncology, complex continuing care, mental health and rehabilitation services. While it remains Orillia’s community hospital, OSMH has a new role as a regional healthcare centre. For more information please visit our website at www.osmh.on.ca.
