Workgroup Success at Soldiers’ Memorial

3/22/2007 12:00:00 AM

The Chair of the Board of Directors of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital says a meeting this evening was a “great success”. The facilitated workgroup session brought together more than thirty people from all walks of life, all working for the good of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. Representatives included hospital front-line staff, physicians, board, administration and many members of the public.

“Everyone in the room had one thing in common,” says Hospital Board Chair Josephine Martensson-Hemsted. “We all want what is best for our hospital, our patients and our community.”

With the aid of a facilitator, participants discussed issues and concerns. They also highlighted the numerous changes underway, including the many improvements in facilities and the addition of hundreds of new staff.

“We look forward to working together on the issues identified,” says Martensson-Hemsted. “It became very clear tonight that everyone who attended is ready and enthusiastic to move forward. It was heartening to see the pride and support that our community feels for our hospital."
