6/26/2013 12:00:00 AM

(June 26, 2013 - Orillia, ON) – The Corporation of Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) approved changes to the Board of Directors at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday evening.

There is one new face among elected directors with the addition of Jacques Boulet of Warminster, ON.   He, along with incumbents Ken Brownlee, Jeffrey French and Paul Leskew were all approved for three-year terms.  Boulet replaces John Cameron, a past Chair, who decided not to run for another term after six years on the Board.

There were also changes to some of the ex-officio positions on the Board.  OSMH Nurses’ Alumni representative Patt Carter has stepped down and is being replaced by Glenna Tinney, a recently retired obstetrics nurse with 40 years of service at OSMH.  Legion representative Bob Thomas concluded nine years on the Board with a replacement to be named later.

Dr. Rebecca Van Iersel was thanked for her two years on the Board as President of the Medical Staff Association (MSA).  Dr. Don Sangster will remain on the Board, moving from MSA Vice-President to President, while Dr. Michael Odlozinski joins the Board in the MSA Vice President’s position.

At the inaugural OSMH Board of Directors meeting immediately following the AGM, Greg Gee was re-elected Chair, with Paul Leskew and Jeffrey French retaining their positions as Vice-Chairs.   French was also elected to the position of Treasurer while Elisabeth Riley was re-affirmed as Board Secretary

The next meeting of the OSMH Board of Directors will be held July 30, 2013.
