Hospital corporation welcomes two new directors and new President & CEO at Annual General Meeting

(Thursday, June 26, 2014 - Orillia, ON) – Penny Bonner and Daniel Germain are the newest members of the Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Board of Directors.  The two were elected to three year terms at the hospital’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) Tuesday evening along with incumbent Board members Ted Emond and Al Scott. 

 

Bonner is a retired lawyer whose practice focused on life sciences law. She has extensive experience in government relations, crisis management, privacy legislation and legal and regulatory compliance.  Germain has more than 25 years of health-care experience, having held senior management positions at hospitals across the province. He is a chartered professional accountant and holds a senior executive position at Casino Rama.

 

The executive of the OSMH Board remained the same with Greg Gee in the Chair’s role along with Paul Leskew as First Vice-Chair, and Jeffrey French as Second Vice-Chair and Treasurer.

The AGM also marked a change of leadership with President and CEO Elisabeth Riley addressing the corporate membership for the final time before her retirement on June 27.  Pat Campbell replaces Riley and begins her duties effective Wednesday, July 2. 

 

For the sixth year in a row, the Board paid tribute to hospital staff and physicians with the presentation of the annual Board Awards of Excellence.  Peer-nominated, a total of six awards were presented with each award aligned with the hospitals five Strategic Themes, and a sixth award in recognition of the hospital’s Values and Code of Conduct.  The 2014 Board Award of Excellence recipients include:
