Downtown computers cheque presentationOrillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) Foundation received the first cheque from a new shop local, give local, initiative led by Downtown Computers.  The $300 donation was raised within four months of a new program which will see a percentage of proceeds from all printer ink or toner cartridge sales donated to the OSMH Foundation.

“We are thrilled to be a part of this fantastic fundraising initiative and are grateful to be chosen as the charity that will receive these funds,” said Nicole McCahon, OSMH Foundation executive director.  “This campaign is a great opportunity for our community to support local businesses, while also helping enhance patient care at our hospital.”

Downtown Computers, operating in Orillia since 1995, implemented the campaign as a way to encourage community members to help support local businesses and employers, but more importantly, allow businesses an opportunity to help build their community into a great place to work and live.

“Shopping locally is something we should all be doing in order to support Orillia’s businesses and employers and help build our community,” explained Al Wallace, owner of Downtown Computers.  “Keeping dollars in Orillia allows local companies like ours to support a variety of initiatives and causes that make Orillia a great place to live.”

Those who purchase ink or toner cartridges from Downtown Computers will be able to take advantage of price matching and free delivery in Orillia.  Most standard toner and ink cartridges are in-stock or available the next business day.

The OSMH Foundation is a proud partner of Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and the people of Orillia and North Simcoe/Muskoka. The foundation provides funds to the hospital to buy medical equipment, sustain programs and assist the hospital in maintaining its position as a leader in providing quality community based healthcare.
