Where to find Care

A reminder of care options available to residents of Orillia and surrounding communities
With cold and flu season upon us, more people are seeking healthcare services. Knowing what options are available, and where to go when you need care, can help ensure you receive the right treatment at the right time, while ensuring Emergency Department resources remain available for those facing serious or life-threatening medical needs.
To help residents make informed decisions and access timely care, the COHT (Couchiching Ontario Health Team) and OSMH (Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital) are reminding residents of all options available, whether in-person, over the phone or virtually. The Central Ontario Regional Urgent Care portal is an excellent example of one option available, where people can access urgent, non life-threatening care virtually without having to leave home.
The COHT and OSMH have compiled a comprehensive listing of primary care services currently available and posted the information on their websites and social media channels. Included with this news release is a one-page summary of care services available which we encourage residents to keep handy over the coming months when making decisions about where to access care.
By choosing the right care at the right time, patients can often improve their healthcare experience and help ensure emergency resources remain available for those who need them most.
