The Broader Public Sector Accountability Act 2010 (BPSAA), which received Royal Assent on December 8, 2010, includes a number of new transparency and accountability mechanisms for hospitals and the broader public sector around the use of lobbyist, consultants and expenses.

Whistleblower Policy & Procedure
As part of our commitment to excellence, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital upholds the highest standards of professional, ethical and legal behavior on the part of its team members, credentialed staff, volunteers and students.
Any person, who becomes aware of a breach of professional, ethical, financial or legal behavior, or contravention of any policy governing the conduct of persons associated with Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, or attempt to conceal any such breach or contravention, is responsible for reporting this immediately.
Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital’s Whistleblower Policy outlines the expectations and process by which any Whistleblowing complaint is handled.
How to submit a complaint
All complaints can be submitted confidentially or anonymously to the Chief Human Resources Officer by any of the following methods:
By Telephone
The Whistleblower Hotline is available at all times at 705-325-2201, ext. 3133 and is accessed exclusively and daily by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
By Email
The e-mail address to which complaints may be forwarded and which is accessed exclusively by the Chief Human Resources Officer and accessed daily is whistleblower@osmh.on.ca
By Mail
Complaints may be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Private and Strictly Confidential – Attention: Chief Human Resources Officer – Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital” by regular mail or other means of delivery. Please send your complaint to:
