‘Building a Healthier, More Integrated Future, For All’ at the heart of OSMH’s new 5-year Strategic Plan
(Orillia, ON) – Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is thrilled to share the launch of its new Strategic Plan, a comprehensive roadmap focussed on expanding partnerships and integrated care over the next five years (2026-2031). It’s ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with community and regional partners is reflected in a Shared Purpose – We are committed to improving health and wellness. Together we will achieve our goals through system co-design in a culturally safe and meaningful way.
“This is truly an exciting time for our organization,” said Carmine Stumpo, OSMH President and CEO.
“As the community continues to grow, so too does our responsibility—and opportunity—to evolve with it. Renewing our strategic plan allows us to harness this momentum, strengthen and expand partnerships, and enhance the way we deliver care across the region.”
With a Vision of ‘Building a Healthier, More Integrated Future, For All’, the new plan builds upon the strengths of the previous strategic plan and is reflective of nearly a year of thorough and engaging dialogue with hospital team members, healthcare partners and the communities served.
Multiple areas of the Plan have been expanded, most notably, a more focused approach to adapting and advancing through a new pillar called – Modernizing Infrastructure & Digital Innovation – that recognizes our commitment to enhancing our digital capabilities today, with an eye toward building a new hospital. There’s also a clear focus on optimizing care delivery through partnerships via the pillars Advancing Partnerships across the System and Expanding Integrated Care with Patients
New to the Plan are three primary foundational components, the non-negotiables that define who we are as an organization – Culture of Community, Inclusion & Belonging; Continuous Quality Improvement; and Robust Financial Health.
The hospital has also expanded its core values from three to five, including Teamwork, Trust, Accountability, Integrity, and Humility, values that will guide every decision and interaction as we strive to deliver care that is compassionate, inclusive, and forward-thinking.
As OSMH moves forward with this renewed vision and strengthened direction, the organization remains deeply committed to working alongside its partners, patients, families, and community members to shape a more connected and sustainable health system. The new Strategic Plan serves not only as a roadmap, but as a promise—to build on collective strengths, embrace innovation, and ensure every individual has access to safe, inclusive, and high‑quality care. Together, we are building a healthier, more integrated future for all.
