OSMH declares COVID-19 outbreak on second Medical Unit
(Orillia, ON) – Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH), in consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, (SMDHU), has confirmed today a COVID-19 outbreak on Soldiers’ 1 Unit impacting 5 inpatients.
OSMH declared an outbreak on its Integrated Medicine and Rehab Service Unit 1 (IMRS 1) on April 13, 2022.
A total of 9 inpatients have been impacted on the IMRS unit.
Enhanced testing of all other patients on the unit is now underway with isolation and outbreak management protocols in place.
Soldiers’ One and the IMRS unit will remain closed to visitors, while the remainder of hospital visiting is being managed under the Essential Visitor policy.
