OSMH Hosts In-Person Hiring Day This Saturday

(Orillia, ON) – Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is hosting an In-Person Hiring Day this Saturday November 19, 2022 from 9:00am -3:00pm.

The Soldiers’ Hiring Day on Saturday marks the first-time Soldiers’ has hosted an in-person event since 2019, a creative solution OSMH has embraced to address the health human resources shortages affecting all organization across the province.

“OSMH is leveraging this opportunity to connect with the community to draw awareness and interest in working with one of the largest employers in the city,” said OSMH Vice President of People Strategy & Chief Human Resources Officer, Debbie Singh.    “While the health human resources shortages continue, the hospital has taken the approach to connect in a meaningful way face to face, in person, and on site.”

Singh is hopeful the event will create interest in working at the Hospital through in person interaction, “Walking through our hospital makes it real and often people walk away knowing they want to work with us.  On Saturday we will offer jobs to those who demonstrate a commitment to care and have the skills needed for the role.”

It’s an all hands on deck approach according to Singh, “Not only will applicants have the opportunity to speak with OSMH Team Members about various departments and positions while they await their interview, our President and CEO, Carmine Stumpo is inviting applicants for coffee in Kendall Café between 1:00pm-2:30pm.  Please stop by and introduce yourself.”

Applicants are asked to register their intention to attend, but walk-ins will be interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please bring a physical copy of your resume for the OSMH hiring teams to review.
