OSMH Hosts In-Person Nursing Career Fair This Saturday

(Orillia, ON) – Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital (OSMH) is hosting an In-Person Hiring Day for current and future nursing applicants this Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 9:00am -2:00pm.

OSMH Vice President, Patient Care & Chief Nursing Executive Jill Colin is hopeful this event, focused on nursing, will yield similar results as the Soldiers’ Hiring Day held in November 2022.  “We were impressed by the number of and quality of applicants seeking roles in the hospital and how it showcased our communities desire to join our exceptional healthcare team.”

This Saturday, the focus will be on nursing roles throughout the Hospital for areas that are most in need such as medicine, surgery, acute care and the float team.

New nurses and nursing students are invited to attend to learn about the Clinical Extern Program, New Grad Guarantee (NGG) and Canada Student Loan Forgiveness programs.  These open sessions will be running from 9:00am-10:00am and 12:00pm-1:00pm.

Similar to the hiring fair in November, attendees will have an opportunity to get a feel for the Soldiers’ experience, according to Colin.   “Hospital tours led by members of our leadership team will take place at 10:00 am and 1:00 pm.  They will have the ability to engage with team members on the units and learn more about the great culture we have at Soldiers.”

The Hospital will be conducting on the spot interviews and job offers for those that are qualified as Registered Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses.

Applicants are asked to register their intention to attend, but walk-ins will be interviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please bring a physical copy of your resume for the OSMH hiring teams to review.

Soldiers’ has permanent and temporary opportunities throughout the Hospital including Full-Time, Part-Time, and Casual positions. All applicants will receive a questionnaire to identify areas of interest and additional qualifications so that we can connect you with the Soldiers’ team that is right for you.

Please note that you will need to screen prior to entrance through the hospital.  Masks will be mandatory to uphold the safety and wellness of all those that interact together.
